Alan Butler is British and an engineer by profession and for the past thirty years has been a full-time researcher and writer with a number of successful books to his credit. His area of interest is principally ancient civilizations which led to the publication of Civilization One and Before the Pyramids co-authored with Christopher Knight. The sequel to Civilization One was Who Built the Moon in which Butler and Knight offer evidence that our Moon is artificial!
Even more extreme is his claim in Intervention that at critical junctures in man’s history, humans from the future have returned to intervene!.
Butler also wrote a book on the Phaistos Disc – The Bronze Age Disc. In it he contends there is support for his 366-degree geometry. The Disc having 30 divisions on one side and 31 on the other, which, with, a calendar alternating 30-day months and 31-day months would result in a 366-day year! Sylvain Tristan supports this idea .
He has only touched briefly on the subject of Atlantis in a number of his books, but this appears to be about to change with a forthcoming offering due in 2014 entitled The Dawn of Genius which promises to deal more fully with Plato’s island. In chapter nine he expresses the view that Plato’s Atlantis story is probably a conflation of a number of historical tales of which the Minoan Hypothesis provides some of the threads. He rejects an Atlantic location as contrary to geology and Plato’s nine thousand years to be archaeologically unsound.
This comprehensive, illustrated guide to Britain’s earthworks, henges, and standing stones explores how and why they were built and used, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the religious, civic, and social practices of their creators. An A-Z section details all the site types in the British Isles, and each monument is identified by latitude and longitude, making it easy for history buffs to find them using maps and geo-location devices.
The authors of Civilization One return, bringing new evidence about the Moon that will shake up our world. Christopher Knight and Alan Butler realized that the ancient system of geometry they presented in their earlier, breakthrough study works as perfectly for the Moon as it does the Earth. They found a consistent sequence of integer numbers that they can apply to every major aspect of the Moon; no such pattern emerges for any other planet or moon in the solar system. In addition, Knight and Butler discovered that the Moon possesses few or no heavy metals and has no core—something that should not be possible. Their persuasive conclusion: if higher life only developed on Earth because the Moon is exactly what it is and where it is, it becomes unreasonable to cling to the idea that the Moon is a natural object—an idea with profound implications.
THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE AND COMPELLING BOOK EVER WRITTEN ABOUT THE SECRET SOCIETY THAT SHAPED THE MODERN WORLD
Freemasonry, with its arcane rituals, occult symbols, and labyrinthine hierarchy, has mystifi ed the outside world for centuries. But it has become apparent that even the most senior Freemasons do not understand its ancient origins or purpose. So what is this powerful and arcane organization really for?
In this eye-opening account, two seasoned researchers show that today’s Freemasons are the spiritual descendants of an ancient priesthood that was forced to act in secrecy. They predicted the birth of the coming Messiah, and Jesus Christ was part of their mission. Soon after the Crucifi xion they were nearly wiped out by a program of mass genocide conducted by the Romans; later, in feudal Europe, they grew to a position of unparalleled power before being branded as heretics and forced underground. But they could not be stopped, and they continued to work in subtle, sometimes subversive, always anonymous, ways to pursue their objective—a new world order that put God above, and yet out of, human affairs.
There must have been a Civilization One: a highly advanced precursor to the earliest recognized civilization. That’s the conclusion reached in this fascinating book. Christopher Knight and Alan Butler began with a quest to crack the mystery of the ancient “megalithic yard”-a precise unit of measurement based on the motions of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. It seems beyond the comprehension of the supposedly unsophisticated people of Stone Age Britain, and yet the measurement kept appearing in ancient structures. The authors’ breakthrough discovery goes far beyond the idea of prehistory, and has far-reaching theological ramifications.
Explores how a secret cabal of influential families has shaped the United States according to the principles of sacred geometry and Goddess veneration
• Exposes the esoteric influences behind the National Grange Order of Husbandry
• Examines the sacred design and hidden purpose of the Washington Monument
• Reveals how the three obelisks in New York City depict the stars of Orion’s Belt
• Explains how every baseball diamond is actually a temple to the Goddess
In America: Nation of the Goddess, Alan Butler and Janet Wolter reveal how a secret cabal of influential “Venus” families with a lineage tracing back to the Eleusinian Mysteries has shaped the history of the United States since its founding. The evidence for such incredible assertions comes from American institutions such as the National Grange Order of Husbandry and from the man-made landscape of the United States where massive structures and whole cities conform to an agenda designed to elevate the feminine within religion and society.
The authors explain how the Venus families, working through the Freemasons and later the Grange, planned the American Revolution and the creation of the United States. It was this group who set the stage for the Founding Fathers to create Washington, D.C., according to the principles of sacred geometry, with an eye toward establishing the New Jerusalem. The authors explore the sacred design of the Washington Monument, revealing its occult purpose and connections to the heavens. They reveal how the obelisks in New York City depict the stars of Orion’s Belt just like the Giza pyramids and how the site of one of them, St. Paul’s Chapel, is the American counterpart to Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland. Exposing the strong esoteric influences behind the establishment of the Grange in the United States, they connect this apparently conservative order of farmers to the Venus families and trace its lineage back to the Cisterians, who were a major voice in the promotion of the Crusades and the establishment of the Knights Templar.
The authors conclude with the startling revelation that nearly every city in America has a temple to the Goddess hidden in plain sight–their baseball diamonds–exposing the extent to which the Venus families are still at work behind the scenes.
From Freemasonry to the Illuminati, it all began with the secret society of the Knights Templar. In medieval Europe, the Knights Templar possessed the political power and financial riches enjoyed by popes and kings, but eventually rival powers and accusations of heresy brought them down in the Middle Ages. Founded to protect Christian pilgrims traveling from Europe to the Holy Land, the Knights Templar, the most famous order of warrior monks, have gone from near-total obscurity to the stuff of bestselling books and blockbuster films.
This beautifully illustrated volume brings to light every aspect of the Templar Order, including their tumultuous history from their humble beginnings to their destruction some 200 years later, as well as, the author s own proposition that key members of the order escaped with their fabled Templar treasure to present-day Switzerland, where they were to continue to carry out one of their major activities as bankers to the world. Shrouded in mystery, this small band that started with nine knights has grown to be one of the most enigmatic historical forces in not only the Catholic Church, but the world; this book finally addresses the unanswered questions that still surround them.
Alan Butler also examines the recently issued facsimile of their trial by the Vatican court, proving their innocence of all charges brought against them, as well as, discussing their current claim for 130 million dollars against the Roman Catholic Church for property seized illegally by the descendants of the original Order in Spain.
With its superlative stone carvings and strong Templar and Freemasonic connections, Rosslyn Chapel—a 15th-century Gothic masterpiece that appeared in The Da Vinci Code—represents an absorbing historical puzzle. Alan Butler and John Ritchie believe that its walls once sheltered a holy relic: the skull of St Matthew. They lay out their startling evidence, complete with formerly unpublished images, and embark on an unprecedented exploration of the Chapel’s history, as a Christian church and as something more: a reconstruction of King Solomon’s Temple and an astronomical observatory.
We’re only just beginning to realize that Bronze Age people knew far more about astronomy and engineering than we have given them credit for. Reading like a thriller, The Goddess, the Grail and the Lodge shows what Grail Knowledge really was and is.
City of the Goddess is the ultimate deconstruction of the design of Washington, D.C., its direct connection to Freemasonry, and its veneration and embodiment of the Great Goddess and the feminine principle. Uncover the secret roots of America, from the deliberate orientation of the capital’s landscape to align with the constellation of Virgo to the beliefs and intentions of the “Star Families”–a truly ancient institution. Learn how one of the most powerful secret societies in the world planned the world’s most powerful city.
Were the pyramids of the pharaohs conceived in Britain? The acclaimed coauthors of Civilization One think so, and they take readers on a gripping excursion into ancient religion and astronomy. Knight and Butler not only establish the existence of an advanced civilization with astonishing, almost modern knowledge, but they also explain how the oldest Neolithic monuments–the henges of North Yorkshire–were planned, and their amazing connection to the later pyramids of Giza.
This is the story of the battle between the orthodox Catholic Church and Freemasonry, itself the most modern manifestation of a much older religious conflict between patriarchal and matriarchal views of godhead.
‘The Knights Templar were probably the single most important influence in the ultimate development of the world we inhabit today.’ So stated the authors Alan Butler and Stephen Dafoe in their much-acclaimed work ‘The Warriors and the Bankers’. But where did they come from, these mysterious white mantled Knights of Christ, and were they simply a reflection of early twelfth century Christian thinking? This is a question that Butler and Dafoe set out to answer – the discoveries they made are going to cause a dramatic reassessment of the whole period relating to the First Crusade and far beyond.
The true genesis of the Knights Templar belongs far back in time, long before Christianity even developed. Latterly the Templars were an offshoot of a little understood monastic brotherhood – the Cistercians, who themselves danced to the tune of an extremely powerful group of individuals inhabiting Burgundy and Flanders from the time of the Romans onwards. Butler and Dafoe offer a detailed account of the rise of a specific group identified as ‘the Troyes Fraternity’, that did not simply respond to the caprices of history – they created it!
Behind the Knights Templar lay a belief pattern almost as old as humanity and a heritage that was already ancient before recorded history began. The story is both fascinating and compulsive. It will leave the reader in no doubt as to the true intentions of the Knights Templar, or of the shadowy but immensely influential organization that brought them into being.
Prepare to be both surprised and shocked. The story within these pages has never been told before and its implications on our view of orthodox history are staggering.
What was the most important step in civilization? Alan Butler’s answer is that it was when we began capturing wild sheep, domesticating and breeding them. Sheep were the mainstay of ancient cultures, by far the most important of the domesticated animals. Able to survive almost anywhere, over-wintering successfully, they provided not just milk, meat and skin, but warm clothing. This is why so many of the earliest gods and their myths are sheep related, from the Egyptian Ra (ram) to the later Christian Lamb of God. But sheep have not only sustained us for thousands of years. Sheep farming also underpinned the growth of European nation states, international trade and modern economies. In effect sheep built the modern world. The demands of the woollen textile industry both drove and financed the Industrial Revolution. The British Empire was founded on wool. The space needed for sheep drove millions off the land, many of whom took them to Australasia and the Americas. With over a billion sheep in the world today the humanity-sheep relationship represents the most successful example of mammalian symbiosis on the planet. The story of the sheep is the story of humanity, a surprisingly exciting and gripping tale that deserves to be told. Spanning a vast period of time, it includes some of the most famous names that have been left to us by history, and many that deserve to better recognized.
This book is responds to the overwhelming interest in the Da Vinci Code by offering the most authentic account of the building of the chapel yet published. The reader is introduced to Sir Gilbert Haye, a 14th century precursor of the Renaissance, Keeper of the Royal Library in France, and family tutor to the Sinclairs, who built the chapel.
The modern world looks back towards Ancient Greece for the start of its philosophy, for the origins of its science and even for the foundations of its excursion into democracy. But is this either correct or fair? Was there something long, long before the City States of Greece flirted with geometry, astronomy and inclusive politics from which Greece itself developed, merely as a pale reflection?
Alan Butler has put together his most exhaustive and yet most compelling presentation of how we came to be what we are today. The Dawn Genius explores the genius that was the Minoan civilization and shows how accounts of the fabled Atlantis were actually memories of a worldwide catastrophe that occurred around 1600 BC.
The Dawn of Genius puts back into the place the missing pieces of the puzzle that is Europe prior to a massive watershed in population and culture that took place after 2000 BC. A cataclysmic volcanic eruption in the Eastern Mediterranean destroyed an almost totally forgotten infrastructure that encompassed an entire continent, and opened Europe to an unparalleled invasion of much less sophisticated people from the East. The book recreates the culture and religion and scientific knowledge that was shattered in an instant and which plunged the world into a dark age from which it has taken over 3,000 years to emerge.
This is probably the most comprehensive explanation of mysteries from a truly ancient world that has ever been written. Those interested in exploring the genuine origins of the modern world are certain to be enthralled.
In The Warriors and the Bankers, the research and writing team of Alan Butler and Stephen Dafoe bring their combined experiences to bear on the question asked for hundreds of years, What became of the Knights Templar? Arrested in 1307, dissolved in 1312 and executed by 1314, the Templars have been the subject of many theories concerning their possible survival. This book examines these theories against new evidence and information. Additionally the authors put forth, for the first time, a completely NEW theory that has caught the ears, eyes and attention of many readers.
The ultimate conclusion is that the Templars did survive, virtually intact, and that, in a very direct sense, they may still be one of the most potent forces at work in the world at the start of the new Millennium. The Warriors and the Bankers is eminently readable and is intended for both the serious student of Templarism or simply the interested observer.
As Alan Butler demonstrates in this extraordinary book, many key events in the history of our world–from the creation of the Moon to the evolution of human beings–came about through the intervention of humans from the future. Based on rigorous science, Butler’s theory reveals the changes made by these time travelers, as well as the markers they left behind to prepare us for the most spectacular revelation of all: our first contact with our future selves, an event that will occur within the lifetime of most people alive today.
Argues that the Phaistos disc, a carved stone disc from ancient Crete, contains mathematical information about the movement of the sun and stars.
